One of my favorite features of the Kindle is that you can easily gift Kindle Books to friends or loved ones. However, it was hard to include the element of surprise since they got delivered right away! Well, Amazon just made a wonderful announcement that changes that!
Now, when you can gift any Kindle Book, you can decide when you want to have it delivered – perfect for Holiday gifting!
Below is the formal announcement from Amazon:
Last year we announced an exciting new feature for Kindle customers–the ability to send your favorite Kindle books to friends and family as gifts. Starting today, you can specify the date you would like that book to be delivered.
It’s easy to get started: simply select a Kindle book to gift on the Amazon.com website, click the “Give as a Gift” button, enter the recipient’s e-mail address, then choose a delivery date. If you prefer, you also have the option of having the gift email sent to you, so you can print and personally deliver it to the recipient, or use it as a stocking stuffer.
There is no Kindle required (for the giver, or the recipient). Kindle book gifts can also be read using our free reading applications for iPhone, iPad, PC, Mac, Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone 7 devices, and Kindle Cloud Reader–a web app that lets you read Kindle books instantly.
Happy eReading, and eGifting! :)

Great news! Especially since I bought the kids the $79 Kindle for Xmas. Now new books can appear just when they should.
Thanks!
I think it will not be long and if your not a Prime member your not going to be any freebies anymore. think about how many is popping up they sold all these kindles and they got to make some profit some how nothing is free.
